These stats show that action/adventure is the most popular genre currently across all ethnic groups. This supports my choice of the action/ adventure genre for my film opening, meaning it will have a broad large target audience which it appeals to.

Final Ideas For My Opening Sequence

For my project( movie introduction), i would like it to be a serious action that ends in suspense so the audience would want to watch the full movie. It's my role as a producer to encode ideas and interpretations in the introduction for the audience to decode it and interpret the movie in their own way. Me and my group are planning to use diegetic, non-diegetic, pleonastic, ambient sounds, a sound bridge and score. Also the use of indexical signs and iconic signs as well as different camera shots to show expressions and emphasise certain aspects of the film.We are going to be conforming with what the character's will be doing since our main character who is a killer and is a man. Our film is going to have a 'mass' audience. in our introduction it will include the title of the film, establish the genre, introduce the characters, the narrative, the significant actions and events that will take place, the appropriate sounds and enigmas.
